Ok, well im only a teen, so i asked my mom when i get rid of my other ducks, im actually keeping the pekin hes to close to me to let go, i asked her if we could order some wlesh harlequins from metzer farms on sept 6 and she said maybe if the other ones are gone by then, and i think im going with WH becuze they are a quiter breed, not like muscovies but quieter and MUCH prettier in my opinion, but thanks for the feedback everyone, and keep posting to me becuz i need all the help i can get!!

I will agree with you that welsh harlequins are a much more attractive looking duck. I am glad that you are asking others for advice on the different types of breeds and their characteristics, sounds like you are a very responsible pet owner. I raised Pekins too, I know what you mean about not wanting to get rid of the drake, they are wonderful pets. I will hold up in prayer that your mother says yes with the Sept. 6th order and and someday near in the future you will have your first clutch of baby duckies.

IM so happy iv never had ducklings only juvies and i already have all the stuff i just need some food and ill be set, but thats at the feed store. i really hope she says yes too, i really want to bond with little ones, becuase although my pekin is my beloved he is still kind of skidish becuase he didnt know me until he was older and afraid of humans. i just really wanna get their new coop/pen done and raise some litttle quakers!!! THANKS YOU EVERYONE!

I just got 6 muscovy ducklings, they are like 8 weeks old and still fluffy!

That's just great news BD! I'm sure this will be a really successful project - well done you for researching and finding the best option for your circumstances. Hope they grow up and provide you with lots of fun times and eggs and babies too
