To all you brains trust, i need some advice and appreciate all the advice i can get.

I purchased 1dz purebreed white australorp eggs that had to be shipped (i have been against shipping eggs but i am unable to get these in my state, so i know it is a huge risk but i'm willing to try anything once)

I received them very well packaged, all arrived safe and sound but i was concerned about the air sack.
In the past i have had 1 detached air cell from my own eggs and it hatched perfectly, funny thing is that it hatched not even going through the air cell.

My question is:
eggs are on day 8, i did my first candle late last night and all eggs have saddle shaped air cells and all have signs of developement/movement and can see the eye and veins.
i did let the eggs sit for 24hrs before i put them in the incubator.
So i did some reading last night and read that shipped eggs have a better chance with the blunt end up. My incubator has them laying on there side. So i cut up some egg cartons to make little cups for them to stand up and stopped the auto turning.
This morning i gently checked them and all air cells are now at the bottom/pointy end. There is still development/movement inside.
Looks like they have a complete detached air cell but now its not saddle shape.

Im not to sure what to do now, i feel like it my be a waste of time but its hard to stop because of the development inside.

What would you all recommend i do. TIA

Just candled again and i didn't candle properly before, air cells are still at the top
phew!!

ok should i just leave them alone with blunt end up with a slight tilt to one side and switch slight tilt to the other side later tonight and leave them like that for a few more days or leave them like that untill day 18 or 21?
not sure if i can put them back on their side through-out this incubation.

I'm a very patience person but im a bit concerned atm lol
maybe i should've just left them alone and let nature take its course
???

Thanks for the info BirdsBeesTrees
i knew this was a huge risk posting eggs, i'm hoping to atleast get 2 white australorps out of this if im lucky.

my incubator only holds 10 eggs but doing it this way i could've put all 12 in, lol
Here's a pic of my set up
Bit worried about the egg cartons and humidity

It should be fine until lockdown (day 18) then lay them on their sides and up the humidity. I actually have to put paper towels in my incubator to keep the eggs from slipping around in my RCom King Suro incubator and they never even get damp! :)

Thanks for the info BirdsBeesTrees :love
You have the same brand incubator i have, mines the one below yours
They're great value for all the features, especially having the humidity water pump
Think i'll invest in one like yours next.
Just candled them and all 10 still have lots of movement inside :jumpy
and it looks like the air cells have settled a little, some still a little saddled but some look a bit more normal :wee

Its going to be interesting to see how many successfully hatch
Paper towel is a good trick, will try that Thank you
Do you wet the towel or leave it dry?

Paper towels are always to be dry. If the eggs get wet it cools the eggs. I really like my RComs. I started using Little Giant Styrofoam incubators, but this year I got a RCom King suro 20, an RCom King Suro eco, and an RCom Max 20. I got my Max 20 because I found out my Peafowl eggs had to be in their side to hatch best. It's the easiest to use because the lid isn't hooked up to a bunch of tubes but you aren't supposed to hatch in them so I got the eco. The king suro you can incubate and hatch in, especially if you aren't hatching large eggs but the lid is a pain to maneuver.

24 hrs untill lockdown, have just put the paper towel in so its the right temp for lockdown, will take them out of the eggs cups and lay them on there side for hatching.
All 10 eggs have developed nicely, was just a bit more work having to manually tilt them but i only did it twice a day so as not to disturb them developing inside to much.
will be interesting to see how many successfully hatch in 4 days.:fl
will post when hatching has finished.
Thank you so much for your advice BirdsBeesTrees :love

Have read other posts in here on saddle air cells
Question? now i'm thinking maybe i should leave them in the egg cups for hatching ??

Yeah I saw that someone does hatch them upright. I haven't ever done it on purpose, once in a while I'd have a chick hatch early before I took them out of the turner. Who knows maybe it would be a good thing? You could always try some different ways and see? You should do what you want to do. :)
