I am still a newbie when it comes to chickens, although I love them dearly. I had posted a pix on 7/8 trying to identify what kind of chick I had. In reading various posts there is much discussion about hackle feathers and saddle feathers but I have no clue as to what or where they are. Can someone educate me? Thanks so much.

The "Hackle" feathers on the neck feathers, and the "Saddle" feathers on around the base of the tail. [IMG]

Thanks so much. So if these looked pointed the bird is probably a rooster?
