Sadie (turkey) has a swollen head

LOL, she loves being inside! So glad that the swelling has gone down, and I would guess that it was a sting. I hope the wound punctures clear up. I keep hoping that one of the turkey people chime in about that. There is a turkey forum under “forums” at the top of this page where you can also post. Those holes look like teeth marks that have possibly caused an abscess.

I didn’t see any wounds when she was attacked. Just bruises, but it’s possible they were small. I’ll post on the turkey forum about it, too. Thank you.

Here’s what she looks like when she gets sassy because she doesn’t want me to take her down. She does NOT want to be evicted! I love it though. Makes me happy that a bird wants to be around her people so much. I’m so glad she’s on the mend.

Thought I should add that Sadie has made a full recovery from whatever was going on with her head. We did manage to wrangle her down and put her outside. She really wanted to move in. The Tom in with her has yet to have any problems either. Thankfully, Sadie has FINALLY stopped laying eggs. It appears none of her eggs will hatch because she never went completely broody, but that is just fine. Pearl turkey hatched her own batch, and I have plenty. Very happy Sadie doesn’t have any of the weird diseases that cause swelling in the head. If anyone has a similar issue, where it sounds like my bird, I hope this helps you in some way.
