When it comes time for him to hatch, I’m guessing you’ll have to finish the hatch for him. If so, don’t rush it!! Zipping is meant to be slow, and it’s healthy for baby to spend some time and energy attempting to hatch. For mine, I very slowly chipped away shell over the course of 1 hour or more until baby could free themself.
Yes, they have went down quite a lot, the video makes that one vein look much angrier than it looks in real life. I’ve just been chipping away when I see shell not connected to the membrane. Is there any instance where I should be pulling the membrane or should I leave all of that to him?

You could likely leave it to him. I only ever pulled it when it was time to hatch and dried out.
 
How’s the baby? 🤞🤞
As of 6:15am cst we have a baby. He seems to have absorbed the yolk but he was still attached to the shell so I put him down to get warm and didn’t pull. Will he free himself?
