Salmon Faverolle slow feathering and growth

Aww, little cutie.
Im thinking he has some genetic hiccups, hopefully none severe enough to hinder him too bad.
His eyes are off a bit and seeing a head on of him he's got a wee bit of a parrot beak.
You'll have to baby him when it comes to food for certain.
His breed, poor eyesight, and a slightly odd beak are a sure recipe he'll go hungry more than you'd like.
Poor guy, they are such sweet birds.
Aww, I wish I knew This all sooner, I’ll never order hatchery Salmon Faverolles again as I’ve now had personal experience with their bad genetics.

I have a couple hatchery Salmon Faverolles from a hatchery here in Wisconsin. I noticed a bit of a strange beak on Dorothy when she was younger, but they are both beautiful, fluffy birds! But, yes, in the future, you may get better luck with breeder quality health wise, I've only ever gotten hatchery birds.

Ya, I was hoping for that but I’ve heard tgeir genetics can be bad.

Now don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
Faverolles vary wildly from hatchery to hatchery, some so distinctly I don't even have to ask where they came from ..example Ideal hatchery birds have crazy colors, super hard to sex those birds because everybody is calico.
Meyers has pretty birds, fairly healthy but they're small very, very small.
You believe it or not you get different quality if you opt for fertile eggs instead of chicks.
I got my senior birds from MPC as eggs in 2017 got two physically that met standard and one with no muffs, beard nothin!.
Point being the hatcheries have good as well as bad, so maybe get a,little nosy and buy from good ones .:)

The runt is crying, what should I do, she likes the bigs.

He’s not crying but I still am worried because chickens are flock animals and usually don’t do well by themselves, also it’ll make integration back with them harder.
Just leave the runt with Sugar. Put them in a warm dark room. Yes, she'll cry for a while. But it will stop. Sugar might just lose the will to live if he doesn't have a flockmate.
