Hello!
So I’ve raised this one for about 24 weeks so about more than 5ish months. I sent pics early on asking if they were Roos or hens and the feedback I got said hens. Well her crop is a bit large? I’m not familiar with this breed but from the pics it seems a bit bigger. I know not all chickens look the same but I’m not sure if she’s still a female! I’ve attached some pics of her (or his) face to show. She’s not entirely a pure breed so I’m not sure how much that should be accounted for. Her behavior is about the same, nothing changed no aggression.

That’s a lot of black for a salmon favorelle hen but if it’s a mix then I’m not sure.

Full body shots would be great, though I'm leaning towards dark pullet for now. :) It's common in hatchery stock.
Just added full body pics! She (or he) does this thing where she crouches down and kinda opens her wings a lil every time I walk by. Not sure if Roos do that or just hens.

That's squatting for a rooster to mount.. as well as a sign of submission. She is getting close to lay eggs. That's a pullet... though I've never seen those markings on an SF before NOW. She's still beautiful! :love

Saddle feathers are coming in around 12 weeks on most birds. Your lady is sporting hen feathers... (accurate in most but not all breeds, not seabright, etc..)

Maybe she just got a lot of black feathers from her dad :p
That’s cool! I didn’t know hens did that and I was kinda worried she was scared or something! I didn’t know why so thanks for the info!! :D
