Thanks for meeting me to get me the meal worms.

It's kind of dangerous now to enter the run....

My hens have that "you better have some mealies" look on their faces.

My little black D'Uccle from Lynne is down right vicious when a meal worm is thrown her way. The Mille Fleur acts like she doesn't know what it is.

I enjoyed our chat. One of these days I'd love to come see your coops and meet your flock.

Thank you!!!

New website looks good, I signed up. I loved Cari's location: Sandy Eggo

I just wanted to say that most of the geese at Lake Murray have moved to the other side of the lake. I think they're going into semi-breeding mode. So, the only geese that will be in that area where we are meeting will be the two Chinas and a Canada. Just thought anyone hoping to see geese there would want to know. They may be back, though, in a couple of weeks, begging for food.

I would be interested in a co-op for organic food. I could not find anything closer but there is Modesto Milling up North and they have BULK ordering. If there is enough interest, I could ask to see what kind of price breaks they offer.

They do offer an array of items like DE, whole peas, milo, oats, flax seeds, whole wheat, etc...... Oh, they also offer soy free feed.

I am currently using their Layer Pellets for Allison's scruffy BO and RIR.

I am using the Cascade for the rest of the chickens. I sure could go for something easier on the pocket book.

I called Modesto to see what the prices were and this is what I was told. 1 ton totes would have to be purchased and the price comes up to $18.46 for 50lbs of Layer Pellets. Basically, 1 ton = Forty 50lb bags.

We would have to get quite a few people together.

Nancy

For the group purchase, does the one ton have to be entirely of the same item? Or can we mix and match until we hit a ton? I'd be interested, and could order beet pulp pellets, black oil sunflower seeds, etc, in addition to the layer pellets.

The website looks terrific! Many thanks to all who had a hand in the development...

Here's a rooster question: have you all found it true that in having two roos that there is double, triple or even more crowing? I have two here, and my Lord - the crowing! If one goes, will the other hush up a bit? I'm going batty with all their constant back-and-forth; I need some earplugs.

That price includes being shipped to one location. It would have to be split from that location. Or they sell the 50lb bags for $2.00 extra a bag again shipped to one location.
