San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I think the different types are starter/grower, grower/finisher, and layer. The first one is medicated, it doesn't say on the bag but it is on that label under the bag, I only read it after I finished the bag and was trying to get the last crumble out of the bag and thought it would be interesting to read the label.

Did your friend's get their chicks? I went to the Feed Store yesterday and I saw that 2 of the shops had chicks. Maybe they are trying to get in one more batch before they quit until next year. If they did not get them yet, you may want to call around the local feed stores. The prices were kind of high, one pet store had them for $4.99 each and the other place wanted $3.25 per chick. I also saw a special at Privett's Hatchery. $1.25 for Plymouth Rocks Pullets minimum of 25 birds. It is postage paid but if it is under the full box it is $7.00.

Hi Cari! yes, I have two little SLW running around my backyard now. One has no tail, the other one does... other than that I can't tell them apart. Guessing one is a boy. Do you need a little roaster???
