Sometimes I find Kahoots coupons in the junk mail that comes, too. I don't buy a lot there, so I'll clip and save those coupons for anybody that wants them? I have Hawthorne Feed Store close by. I found a dog food there that my dogs do well with, and is not expensive. All my chicken stuff comes from there too, but the girls are really liking the Modesto feed! I'm refilling their feeder a lot more often! The BOSS are a hit too.
Al: I have a brother stationed in Okinawa right now. My mom got a call at 4:45am that he and his family were okay, all the military members were accounted for, and the tsunami watch had passed. Pretty scary stuff! So do insurance rates go up after each big earthquake, and go down after periods of non activity? Like gas prices?
Dana- I am fortunate that my hawks still have a preference for rodents. I saw a big one eating what looked like a rabbit on a pole above our property the other day, and we all cheered for it! They have eyeballed my chickens, but with the kids and dogs always out there, they haven't gotten brave enough to fly down. Jessica says that she saw a little falcon fly and land in a tree near our fenceline today, but I don't think they would try to take a LF bird, the falcons aren't much bigger than the local doves, and my banties, which are probably prey size, are never free ranging. Anybody ever have one of those little falcons go after your LF birds? I've seen them take down doves, and they are gruesome.
So I'm thinking about having a chicken bath day here.....too much yogurt lately, and my girlies are feeling kinda sticky
. I want them to be soft and fluffy again! I'm going to look up that thread again, about chicken bathing.
