San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Good morning,
We won't be able to make it to the meetup as we have to attend a wedding that day here in SD but I wanted to show off my new girls! I drove out to Ramona on Friday and a certain chicken pusher from dfdesigns helped me pick a couple cuties since they didn't have exactly what I was looking for.

Anyway, here they are:

I got a light Brahma and a buff Brahma. I can't believe how fast they are growing.

how is angel's angels doing?

Glad you can make it to the meet up.you will really have fun there. It is going to be a big one this time.
Angel is doing so good! What a good mama she is. Oh, and my husband informed me that he is "NOT" attached to the two baby chicks...... but he named them goldielocks and mr. penguin! LOL And I have caught him talking to them a few times. ;)

If you come to the meet up next weekend I can give you some but they will be mixed bred (ameraucana x cream legbar). I am sure lots of people will have purebred eggs too.

Hey, does anybody have some fertile eggs I could buy? I'm looking to get 3, I don't really want to buy a whole dozen.

Are you looking for anything specific? Or just something fertile? I think a lot of people here have eggs to hatch.

Elizabeth - so glad your new babies are doing well! They are so darn cute... my babies are getting moved out to the barn today since they've outgrown my back bathtub.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. We have over 100 birds entered for our show!! Its going to be exciting! We have BYC/ Serama folks flying in from Florida, Ohio, and Washington, and driving from Stockton, Reno, and Arizona! I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. This is turning out to be our biggest show yet. A local artist is making our awards, he is burning our club logo onto a wooden plaque, and then onsite, burning in the award title, i.e. Junior Champion Hen, or Grand Champion of Show, etc.

Those awards look awesome! I'm so excited for all you Serama people. I can imagine your nervousness. I think chicken people are pretty easy to please so don't get too uptight... ...now that's coming from ME!
