Sorry about Blindy, I have a one eye-blind girl named Blinky.

If it is a weasel, it will definitely go after your chickens, been there done that. Not sure if they will take out a rat or not, but I would rather use the rats as target practice, and rid my self of the weasel. JMO

Thanks KKH! ! ! As far as life span, I would say about on par with Cochins, and Millie's. As with most poultry they hit their peak at two years and then it tapers from there.

I am not sure if I can make it but will look into it. I appreciate the reminder.

IF I can I will bring some home-made peach and strawberry jam to sell for 4.00 half pint jars. I have 15 jars of each available right now, but can make more if anyone is interested.

I also have 4 male kittens to get rid of. They will be 10 weeks old at the time of the meet-up. They are grey. They are great mousers as are their parents.

I could throw an assortment of home grown canned goods together (about 5 jars) for the raffle too.

If nothing else I would love to come and meet everyone!!

I need advice. What does one do with cockerels that you can't keep, and no one else wants? If I didn't live in the 'burbs I'd raise them and eat them but its not feasible. I advertised on Facebook and had interested people who flaked or backed out. What does a backyard chicken keeper do in such cases?

We still need someone to volunteer to be there early to secure a good spot AND someone who wants to be completely in charge of the raffle AND someone else who wants to be in charge of the cupcake contest.
