Hey, anyone know where the best prices for layer/chicken feed is? My feed store just went up to $16.55 per 50lb sack. I live in North County and can travel to vista, san marcos, escondido, and nearby areas.

I had been paying around $13 a bag, it went up $3

Well I was paying about $13 and I have no brand preference. Now paying $16 for the same stuff and the price jumped overnight.

When I am in a pinch I go to Walmart. They had layer for 9.00 last weekend. Its a 40 lb bag so it works out to be appx 23 cents a pound for comparison shopping. It has to be one of the big walmarts though. The one on Las Coches in Lakeside/El Cajon off highway 8 is the one I go to. I get Grain for the Goats there too in a pinch.

And Yeah I know its probably not the best nor has it just been freshly packaged. But on a fixed income sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

The local feed store here just promised that feed will cost more due to the price of corn rising. So look for another price jump !! Lucky us.
