Hi! First time chicken mom here!
We obtained our flock about 9 weeks ago from Hoover’s Hatchery and it was supposed to be all ladies. As chicks, we saw no indication of any Roo and since we are under the impression that Sapphire Gems are sex-linked we never worried about it.
Here we are 9wks later and my gut tells me we have a Roo...it’s going to break my heart if it is cause the city we live in doesn’t allow us to have them. I’d like to get some feedback if any one can help me sex this kid so I can start coming up with a plan for rehoming if it is. :(

I agree, pretty sure it's a cockerel. There's a few threads here about SGs (I have some too) and several people have gotten boys who did not have the sex linked mark on the head.
It's such a new hybrid that I think the breeders are still working all the kinks out.

Once it's a little older and you are for sure, you can list it here on BYC in the re-homing section. Or post it on your state thread.
