Sapphire Gem

Jewel did have the yellow more prominently on her. Riya not as much. Man, I still have to get some updated pics of them. They're blue all the way around now showing no signs on witr belly or anything like that so I don't know.
Would you please post pics of what your babies look like now? I am very interested in this breed. Are you happy with yours so far?

Is anyone familiar with the sexlink Sapphire Gem. What are the attributes, egg laying, lifespan, drawbacks, temperament?

I was at a local feed store and saw some in their bins, but seems like there’s not much information about them except their beautiful grayish blue chicks originated from Czech Republic. Anyone have experience with them? I was so tempted to buy some but restrained myself when I came back few days later they were all gone.

We had some a couple of years ago from Tractor Supply, we really liked them but they nor the hatchery could tell me what they had. I have been looking and found them at Hoover hatchery this year. If these girls are like our last they won't disappoint.

The grey ones are my sapphire gems at 6.5 weeks(1.5 weeks ago). I plan to take more pics tomorrow to show their progression. Two are lighter in color, two darker. All are social and sweet. I'm very new to raising chickens so I thought they would have more of a blue hue. Maybe grey is blue in the chicken world? They were only a day or two old when I brought them home and they were all healthy. I didn't lose any, which was great because I was paranoid and thought for sure I'd lose at least one. I too can find very limited info on the breed, but that's to be expected with a new breed.

I have 7 of these young hens. They're not laying eggs yet but are the friendliest chickens EVER! They like to be held and petted, come running when I say "hey chickens"... They are curious, cute and cuddly! I am so happy I ordered them!

Pretty birds. I'm not sure they're an actual breed, more of a cross. I have a cross like this. My trademark name is Misty Silvers. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow.
