Considering her speech was written by the same man that has been writing Bush's speeches for the last 8 years, that doesn't mean much to me.

Sez it all for me!

The fact that most politicians are not capable of writing their own speeches says TONS about why we are in the mess we are in today.

I thought she did a good job on her speech and will be quite capable if McCain gets elected. What amazes me is how everyone(on both sides)is making such a big deal about this VP candidate. A few times I had to remind myself that she is not the pesidential candidate. Have they(everyone)turned this much scrutinity on Joe Biden? Maybe they have and I've missed it. I'm not meaning to be critical,it's just an observation. No offense to her or anyone else,but I can't remember any VP having much to do after the election. Has our current one done anything? Did Al Gore do anything? Dan Quale? I was impressed with the speeches of both conventions,but until they roll up their sleeves and get to actual work,it's all smoke and mirrors to me. I am not Republican nor Democrat. I vote for whomever I think represents my convictions and I think will do the best job. To be honest,I like both VP candidates better than either one of the Presidential candidates. I wonder if they could be convinced to join forces some day. Now,that would be a race!

Is it me, or does she remind you of Julia Louise Dreyfus of "Seinfeld" ?

I think it's the glasses, Lunachick. JLD is surely partly responsible for the popularity of that rectangular frame, she had a pair on the show (how many years ago?), and I think they've become imprinted on our brains as what "smart" women wear-- due to 8O thousand episodes seen in syndication, probably.

I think everyone's so focused on this woman because McCain is so old. DH was pointing out that he'd be 80 if he survived through 2 terms.​

I like her in spite of the fact that I disagree with her and will not vote for her. She is a pistol and I dig that

What many people don't realize is that most speeches are written by other people. I think I read in an article that 80 - 90% of political speeches are written by "speech writers". so to concentrate on who wrote her speech, anyone can write a speech its who and how its delivered. I also heard the teleprompter wasnt working the last 1/4 of her speech. Not sure if that is true or not.

I think she presented herself well. Who knows what she may do in the future. She made a great first step and impressed me.

I am here in Minnesota in the midst of the convention and I tell you there is so much going on you don't hear about in the news.
