Save The House Sparrows (STHS)

Nope, main course baked in a flaky pie crust with potatoes, carrot, celery, onion and seasonings.

Quail are as tiny as I'd go, personally, but I know a lot of those old recipes began as sheer survival tactics, although some were fashionable.

Anyway, you guys, I'm just going to quit this thread because I can see no use in me being here. I am pro- introduced pest species control, though I rarely agree with how it is carried out, not that there are usually too many good options that please everyone, and as much as I like sparrows too.

Yes, there are many introduced species who are naturalized and not considered pests, which to me actually sounds more like 'we can't get rid of them and we don't know how damaging they are so we've decided they're naturalized and can stay'. Like red deer in Victoria, Australia. They'll be doing plenty of harm to natives but they're naturalized.

Anyway, each to their own and best wishes.

Frankly, I really like anything that has feathers, and have raised bird/fowl of many varieties for all of my life.

I also enjoy eating the fruits of my endeavors, and regard the English House Sparrow as a renewable resource much like the deer, rabbit, pheasant and other wild game that I harvest and eat.

But this is something to SAVE sparrows, not to talk about eating them for dinner. Chicknsrock is upset that you guys are talking about eating them and killing them AND how they are somehow bullies on her thread to save sparrows! How about we only talk about how much we like sparrows, not how much we like to eat them.

No intent to upset here - it's just that there are many sides to any subject. When one viewpoint is submitted, it is quite normal to expect varied responses.
