Scab?

I was filing my roosters nails when I noticed he had a scab? I’m unsure of what it could be or if it’s something I should worry about. When he was free ranging he didn’t seem to be bother by it. I put a little pressure on it and he didn’t squirm around or show any signs of discomfort. (I’m pretty sure the black spots on the rim of the injury is just dirt)

To me it looks like a healing injury. At this point, I would just monitor closely.
