Sweetie, if they thought there was a remote possibility of lung cancer, they wouldn't have you wait 6 months for another CT.
Our Granny Donna has had a "chest cold" for over a year that seems to get better, then worse. She has been faithfully going to her physician and had multiple rounds of antibiotics. Finally a chest CT showed 2 large lung masses and she was told by her primary care physician that it was likely squamous cell carcinoma. She went to the pulmonologist (lung doctor) last week expecting the final hammer to fall but instead he said he thought it was probably a long standing infection. Bronchoscopy was done the very next day and he said he saw nothing to make him change his diagnosis. She is now waiting for final biopsy report this week.
I'm sharing this so you can see that an infection can cause lung nodules and inflammed lymph nodes that resemble lung cancer. Take a deep breath, rely on God for your source of strength and "don't look for spiders"!!
