HI guys!
Really hoping for some advice/feedback on my Orpington hen Pearl. She has been unwell for approx 10 days with an on and off impacted crop, which seemed to be almost properly functioning again at the start of the week as was 98% empty in the morning & she was running around like normal again with much more colour back in her comb/wattles - she had gone pretty pale when she was badly impacted :( On Monday she was straight into eating layer pellets again when I fed the other chooks which she had previously had no interest in, so obviously felt well enough to eat them again instead of the egg/yoghurt/oil I had been giving her along with crop massage to break up the impaction. I took her to the vet after she went backwards again and she has just had an xray done which is showing a screw in he gizzard along with a couple other small pieces of metal 😟
Just wondering if anyone has ever had a chook with a screw/larger metal object stuck in gizzard that was able to pass it? Wondering if she was given a lot of coconut oil and some laxative if its possible to be passed!!?? She is still currently with the vet as he is also trying to find further information on what to do!

I don't think they'll be able to pass it.
I've butchered several chickens with a piece of glass or nail imbedded in their gizzard. The contracting gizzard just buried it into the meat and was destined to stay forever, till death do they part.
