I don't think there is a hole in the crop. We did lay her back down and check her out, but there are pockets of water underneath the skin at the top of the crop to the left, maybe left from the saline rinse. If that is all it is, it will drain or be absorbed, I think. I just want her to poop so I know the food is going through her system. Could be her crop is so huge, the food can't make it to the hole to go to the stomach. If that is the case, we just don't have the expertise to fix it.

Beth just left here-was so good to see her again! Honestly, we need to have more time! She took Shelby home to live with her, paid homage to Suede and Isaac with an apple muffin, was smitten by the D'Anvers and Rex's bunch and brought me an apple cake.

Cyn, hope Smokey is still doing better. I never thought I would be glad for a chicken to poop, but con-stink- it- poop Smokey.

On a brighter note.

I finally have a laying hen and then another today. One small Del pinkish brown one and -and -and a long torpedo OLIVE one. Yeah Flower and Mattie. I feel like a kid again after doing without fresh eggs for sooooo long. Gloria Jean

Apple so he would remember it was from ME and not think it was LH, although even Suede would be able to tell I make about three of her.

I did so enjoy the visit, Cyn, even if it was short, and seeing Nugget and her little cutie and all the beauties. Did you count your d'Anvers after I left? hehehehe

Miss Shelby is up in a brooder in the barn getting used to me- we shared a wonderful oatmeal cookie on the way home. I felt bad eating them in front of her - Cyn is an EXCELLENT cook, and she asked very politely for a piece, so she got some and then took a little nap. She is a great traveler, every once in a while she would look up at me and say "Bawk" as if she was asking "are we there yet?" She ate and drank immediately in the brooder and is looking around at the barn wondering where she is. I need to introduce her to the dogs, and make sure she lets me catch her, although I do not think that is going to be a problem, and then we will place her hopefully with Ultrasuede or with Muffin, Gladys, Lucy and Ethel.
She is a beauty!! THANK YOU CYNTHIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, Beth, thank you! Now, I know that Shelby will be well loved and cared for and I hope she will be a good girl for you. She is beautiful, isn't she? Maretta is pretty, but I always thought Shelby was the prettier "sister".
