I go to see a doctor (or nurse practitioner) once a year, just to renew my Requip prescription (for Restless Leg Syndrome). That's it.

I went to see a young new doctor today. He and his wife are both physicians and new to the local clinic. B has seen his wife before and really liked her. Actually, I had no intention of going to see any doctor. They all ganged up on me around here, though. Mike, B, and Tyler, all threatened to take me to the ER. So, I agreed to an office visit.

I have been coughing my head off. It started a couple weeks ago, I suppose. It just keeps getting worse. If I dare to lay down, I have fits of coughing lasting forever. Last night I did get a few hours rest though. I took some NyQuil and slept in the recliner. I know my lungs are full of gunk. I can feel it.

So, I go to the doctor wanting some dang cough syrup..... that's all, just give me some cough syrup!
He doesn't like cough syrup! WHAT????? I want some cough syrup!

He proceeds to tell me that this gunk I have - started with a sinus infection that drained into my lungs and caused bronchitis. Bull-crap! I have never ever in my life had a sinus infection. NEVER! My ears started hurting today, too. Well now, I had suffered with earaches alot as a child, and a few times as an adult. He says my ears look fine. Well, then, why do they hurt? Yes, I had a headache (and I rarely ever have a headache). BUT, not a sinus headache. I know why I had a headache..... FROM COUGHING!

I also told him that the antibiotic I took in Iowa was Ceclor (as I am allergic to penicillin), and it was effective. "What?" he says. "That is not an antibiotic. It is a decongestant." No, sir, it is the antibiotic I took in the past. He looked it up. It wasn't on his cute little electronic gadget. So, he pulled out another thing a-ma-gig. "Oh, well, yes, it is in the cephalosporin family." YES, it is! "Oh well, the one I am prescribing is even better than that one."

So, here I am, at home, whining and complaining, with prescriptions for Prednisone, an antibiotic, and an inhaler.... AND NO COUGH SYRUP!

WTH!!!!! What a dumb rear end! I bet you won't be going back to him!

Get better soon.

Okay sending out a check in request here....Inkheart, Joletabey, Braclin check in now dang it!

Last I spoke to Speckledhen they had a brown out at their place and fried the phone...she was using an old spare phone she had. I will call her in a few hours after I get some sleep and check in on her again but she and Tom were doing okay when we spoke.

Knox I have been trying to call you for hours and getting the 'all circuits are busy' nonsense....I know Ohio was catching hell too. Check in please.

Beth...check in from NC please

Brandon...please please check in I know there was that nasty tornado between you and I that came through S. IN, Louisville and up N of Lexington.....I also know you had one hit West Liberty, KY just SE of you....I have been trying to call....please check in

Bill and I ran out for a few emergency supplies and I snapped a few pics heading home...we were on I-75 headed North from Georgetown/Lexington, KY...this cell was moving NNE towards Cincinnati....I know we had a tornado rip through Nortth of us on the South side of the Ohio River from Cincinnati....

We're okay. We are in a little pocket that seems protected from the worst of things for some reason. Scott says it's the force field created by Tom's satellite dishes, LOL. We are on a small mountain surrounded by higher mountains. We did not have a power outage, but we lost a night of sleep, on the ready since we are incubating.

Gloria Jean, do you mean the Murphy Ingles is gone? Oh my! That is next to the Walmart where we shop for our monthly groceries. We plan to go in the next couple of days after the babies hatch.

Oh, Miranda is doing much better. I'm pleased and puzzled.

ETA: Gracie, one of the Buff Orps hatched with Rex and all those, has decided to die. We've been fighting whatever is wrong with her for months, ever since she quit laying two weeks after she began. She started about 34 weeks, after she and Hope went in with Suede. She would be a year old on April 6, but she won't live that long. Then she stopped laying two weeks after she started. In a few weeks, I noticed she had lost an alarming amount of weight. Special feeding began, even wormed her. She would not eat pelleted feed at all, was starving herself, though she had been eating it for many weeks, with Rex, then in the main flock, before she was given to Suede. We got her crumble and she started eating, even gained a few ounces. I just checked her a few days ago and she is bones and feathers again, so separated her and started giving her special feed-oatmeal, grits, scrambled eggs, even tried catfood. She won't eat. I just gave her a bowl of scrambled eggs and she ignored it to go sit at the back of the cage. She has decided to sit and die and we have no idea why. No symptoms, nothing. It's like her survival instinct is just switched off.

The others in that group are robust and healthy. Her sister is humongous and lays on a daily basis. It's something in her brain or something wrong internally that we can't see that somehow was triggered when she began laying.

I'm Ok!!! I was without electric for 16 hrs. I was at work while the tornados were hitting all around us. I talked to Mom right before the first storms hit and she was on alert where she volunteers with the sheriffs office. I didnt hear back from her till 9pm lastnight. I was trying to remain calm because her area Frenchburg (Menifee Co.) and the neighboring community of West Liberty were some of the hardest hit areas in KY. She was out all night helping with the victims of the storms. She is without phone still but I think I caught a glimpse of her on the news a bit ago so I think she is already back out helping this morning. A few houses down the road from me lost roofs, but all is good here. My neighbor came over and placed the chicks in front of my gas heater till I could get home. The incubator full of eggs is a loss there wasnt anything I could do. I kept filling bottles of hot water to help keep the chicks warm through the rest of the night. Thank God there was hot water left in the water heater or I guess I wouldve had to sleep with chicks in my bed. Im very lucky that the storms went above and below me. Mom said lastnight that the area just looked like it was shredded. They have 3 or 4 fatalities in her area but could possibly be more as they make it through areas they couldnt get through lastnight. Has anyone heard from KNOX???

Seminole, sorry to hear you have shingles. I hope you feel better soon.

Cyn, sorry about Gracie but glad that Miranda is doing better.

Glad that y'all are surviving the storms down south. I hope that Knox is doing ok

I was finally able to get past the "all circuits are busy" crap and just left a message on Knox's cell phone....I asked him to check in as soon as he could or call my cell.

Poor guy, I will keep trying. This is what he gets for being single...a bunch of chicken crazed nannies.
