It's about 85 here and sunny. Ike acts like he is going to keel over any minute so we put our last big box fan in the coop, on the original side where he likes to sit. It previously had a 12" box fan in the window, but that doesn't move much air and this boy really needs it.
Isn't it bizarre that ice can fall from the sky at those temps?
It rained 2 and 1/2 inches here in the mtns in 1 hour. We had anywhere from pea size to nickel size hail in it too. Lightening the works. an old fashioned thunderstorm. We were getting dry again but really most of this will just run off it came so fast. Also I have to replant my squash box. I had zuchinn, summer yellow and and Golden dumpling acorn type. Then in the back I had a buttercup bush squash. I freeze the squash we don't eat and give it all winter to the hens. They love it. this made havoc of the box overrunning it. The seeds were probable washed out too. Take care Gloria Jean
Just wanted to share some pics from this weekend with the hooligans
Cheyenne and her 2 standard cochins that she acquired from Braclin This is Lizzie and Luke
They are just the sweetest things on the planet and wow do they totally tick off the Politician Chicken! Junebug is very very jealous of any bird that gets attention from Cheyenne and she will peck at them in a flash. Mean ole thing LOL
The Delaware cockerel I am rehoming for Cyn....
My Little Love, Rufus (I added three eggs from his pen to the incubator which had 49 eggs in it already (from Cyn) So, we shall see how well he is romancing his new women.
My Little Love with his new women....He has the 2 porcelain d'Uccle, lavender d'Uccle and project split to lavender d'Uccle
Proof that the politician chicken missed her girl....this began the second Cheyenne stepped out of the Jeep at home and it continues constantly! She follows Chy everywhere, waits for her by the door and climbs on her if she sits down for a split second. LOL Cheyenne cannot get out of her sight.
I have more June/Isaac eggs in my bator....politician chickens will take over every flock if Junebug has her way...Brandon has to have one in his flock and he shall soon....Real soon!
I'm rather worried about Junebug's mama. She has been on the nest several times and leaves with no egg. I hope this isn't a sign of trouble for her. She's 4 years old now and was just laying, since LH has her eggs in the bator.

It's a mess to clean up...........
Funny thing..... yesterday Mike had hired a young boy to sweep off all the pavement we have. This boy is trying to raise money for a trip he wants to go on. Guess we will have to have him come back again.
