LH, that sweet old thing, DeDe? What are you doing to make her so hateful, huh? (hey, you're always saying I was mean to Rufus, so shoe's on the other foot, lady,LOL).
ME! ME! ME! ME! MEEEEE!!!! I'll take her LH! Maybe she could knock some sense into 'Milio.
Well, Kathy, it's about time! That's just your body telling you it was genuinely TIRED! Glad to hear you finally got some of the rest you've been needing.
Cyn, I have a hard time believing that one litttle frog could cause a girl that much trouble. Ours eat the dang things all the time. Unless you have some sort of poisonous variety around your place, maybe?
That crazy bunch of mine LOVE Styrofoam. If it's within reach, they're tearing off chunks of it and gulping it down. I keep hollering at Denny not to leave it where they can find it, but I may as well be talking to a brick wall.
What the heck is in that stuff that they find it irresistable anyhow?
Can't think of where she'd find any styrofoam, Amy. We don't leave that around, but on this wooded property, she may have found something free ranging. You just never know. Tom put her back with the main flock since we can't break that thing down and she seems normal, other than being thinner than she ought to be.
Anyone free today? You are welcome to come on over and help me clean coops!
Happy Mothers Day! Doing what I like to do!
My Brahmas have really grown. I am only gonna keep a trio of the Buff Laced and probably just 1 Gold Laced pullet.
I have 5 roosters in my layers coop (around 36, I think) .... 2 Georges, 1 Wheaten Ameraucana, 1 BCMarans, and 1 Lavender Ameraucana. They all get along so well, but a couple of the girls are over mated. Instead of messing with the roosters, I think I might move the "easy" girls into a pen with others. Maybe. I will be moving the Brahmas in here, too.
Mother's Day finds a beautiful day here today. This Icelandic mama is keeping very busy with her 9 Icelandic chicks.
Looks like you and I have the same notion today, Kathy. Just taking a breather from coop cleaning myself. Those are some beautiful girls there, by the way. Very nice!
Kathy, the Brahmas are gorgeous! Tom and I were very fond of Miranda and we adore Caroline. Maybe, one day when I'm up for incubating again, if you still have them, I can beg some eggs off of you from your Buff Laced Brahmas, or even if they're mixed colors. The Brahmas never seem to have issues with either heat or cold here.
Cyn, When someone feels skinny to me, I usually take them aside once a day and feed them wet mash. I think they eat more that way, and it would be nice and wet. I'm sure you're doing everything for her, just a suggestion.
Karen, she's eating, but it's apparently not processing well. My internal layers (thank goodness that's not her issue) would be positively skeletal in spite of good appetites. If she has cancer like Reba did, and like I suspect Miranda did, that would explain the weight loss.
