Okay, interesting question........what do you think of me letting my last broody hen sit on DUCK Eggs? I am curious on fertility on these buggers....but really, who wants to brood ducklings during WINTER? yuck.
The more I think of it, it just sounds dumb. LOL.
I have the last 2 hens sitting on about 16 olive eggs. I have more than enough for another batch. All my roosters are cochins or the wheaten am boy, so all hens should be colored egg layers, although probably a lighter green color. Roosters should be decent eating.
I'd like some more leghorn mixes, but not so sure that leghorn/cochin crosses would be the way to go.....and this last olive egg batch of eggs had a single leghorn egg as a test egg and it was NOT fertile. The only one, darn it.
Okay, well, nevermind. I think i just talked myself right into letting her sit on 10 olive eggs instead. LOL.
