I think I need some LF Cochins! I love fuffy chickens, and I like 'em large! Hmmmm, Brahma's may be calling my name (Partridge would be pretty, wouldn't they!) .....

Kathy- Have your ameraucanas started laying yet? You should certainly get some Brahmas! I love them... especially the darks.

Nella, those are great pictures! Wish I could post some like that right now! Only excitement here is me waiting to finally get those two little pullets...

We just had a great dinner with a friend. My mom just got back from Vietnam, where she took a cooking class, so she made us a thai meal. I just had to pick out ALL that meat. Hard to find something vegetarian!

Oh, Nick, I don't have wheaten Marans. Just a Blue Copper and a Red Copper. The only "Dark" egg boy I have is a Welsummer that doesn't even know he is a rooster

Beth... I so wish the calf was mine!! The owner told me this is the first time she's had a calf this color.. and they've had her about 18 yrs, with a calf every year. DH and I have spent hours trying to figure out just WHAT breeds Momma might be, but at her age/condition, its tough to tell much of anything. I say shorthorn/coriente, but, we really have NO clue! I just know she's beautiful!!!

Oh, and Mamas name is Dominicker, after "them purty Dominicker chickens"

(I didn't have the heart to correct the guy, he's 88yo)

Oh Scott, I sure can't turn down purty Rocks like those!!!! Maybe Hubs won't notice the difference between them and the Delawares, and I can blend em right in

Oh thats too cute, chickens on the float! Wonder what they were thinkin!!!

Oh, and one more addition today.. Meet Roscoe!!! Trained herding dog, cows, goats, horses. And he didn't even blink at the chickens! They didn't even register on his radar
celebrate.gif
He's fresh outta the bath tub. Poor guy was covered in brambles and they were embeded in his coat just about into his skin
sad.png
I hope the hair grows back!!! Hopefully he'll be looking better after a few weeks of groceries and lots of TLC

I have Dels and the Columbians....DW cant tell them apart. Perhaps you can "slide them in". And Roscoe looks toooooo cute. Is he a border collie? He looks all worn out

ETA - yes, they are yellow as chicks

Sweet, yes!!! Ok... add me on the list

We'll even come pick em up

(If you wouldn't mind me drooling over all the beauties you have!!! )

Yeah, he's a Border Collie. Poor guy is too pooped to pop!! He's been exploring the property (and marking
roll.png
I think he got fixed late) at least the front 10 acres here close to the house. He's met the goats, cows, chickens, and checked out the front gate boundary, run around the house several times... took a ride to check cows at the winter pasture property.... Been quite a day! He's snooring infront of the door.... I think the bath was the last straw

Now if I can get my crusty old curmudgeon of a lab, Leia (13 1/2yo ) to let him be instead of tormenting him with her "I'm going to eat you" look. She's already instigated 2 fights
he.gif
with him. If she keeps this up, I'm gonna hafta get the hot shot outta the barn, grrrr. Though finding the directions to re program the shock collar would be the better option. Hopefully they've figured out She's boss, and thats that, but knowing Leia... this aint over, grrrr

I have pictures too...hehehehe

Dinnertime!

My beautiful girl

The reason my neighbor has ran a high line of barbed wire around 4 fencelines....the lovesick stallion staring at Jo

7630_imag0100dec2.jpg

So should the professional teaser stallion get any ideas, he now has to jump four fencelines with a high line of barbed wire. He really is a well mannered boy but he is very entranced with Jo. LOL

If the weather will not get worse, we will have her here with us come Sunday or Monday. Right now it is just light snow so I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying because I want her here with me so I can see as often as I want....I am driving down there 4 times per day now LOL. My DH says I have lost my mind because I am sick and going out in this mess...but I do not want her down there alone thinking she has been abandoned or just left in a paddock. So I may be a little crazy but I care about her feelings.

And before anyone asks..yes I have my pencillin out again. LOL First time in 10 years my FIL visits us, first time he has spoken to me and he comes here sick and leaves that with me. GREAT!
