That picture of the cat on his/her back and the dog on his/her belly is absolutely priceless!!

And I WANT your little mahogany colored pup! The one with the "eyeglasses" pattern around his/her eyes. S/he looks so much like my old girl Babe from when I was a child. She was one of the most awesome souls God ever created. Babe lived to the extremely ripe old age of 21!

And nearly 30 years after her passing, there are days that I still miss her.

I can't imagine a life without my furry or feathered friends in it. Without them, life just ain't worth getting out of bed in the morning for! Thanks for sharing such great pics of your other babies guys! They're all precious!

That's Molly......she is the DEVIL. You want her? I will ship her to you, LOL. She is a total housetraining failure. FAILURE.

Good thing she's cute. She says "you talkin' 'bout me?!"

Morning all!

Sorry, but I've been busy since my trip last week to NC....truly a good thing as business is beginning to get going for me!! YEAH!!

Weather here today started off absolutely wonderful. 64 degrees, cool breeze, no humidity. I sat outside with my coffee and my chooks (of course with my phn and computer) til 'round 9am. I'm hoping this is a glimpse of the weather yet to come.

Nella - I would take that little "masked bandit"....she is totally too cute!

I gotta start thinking about some breeding pens and a Fall hatch....my Col Rock cockerels are starting to "dance", but the girls are FAR from interested. Hopefully in a month or so. My BRs are getting HUGE. They are about 3 months old (13 weeks) and are larger than my 1 yr old blue and black rock girls!!

Kathyinmo - sorry I missed your birthday, but Happy BELATED Birthday nonetheless

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Yard full o' rocks :

Get in line Scott!!! I have first dibs on Molly!!

How old is she now Nella? In the first pictures she looks like about 6 months, give or take. Any idea of what she weighs? How is she around free ranging chickens?? Does she understand that they're a part of the family and therefore not to be eaten or harmed in any way??? Inquiring minds need to know!

Jasper would be in 7th heaven to have a little friend like her to share his farm with, even though he was neutered long ago.

She's just too cute....which is why she has probably gotten away with the potty training issue for so long. One look at that face and I'm sure you loose all impetus to be angry with her. I'm right! Aren't I?

Molly is a little midget of a dog. I got her beginning of March and she was about 3-3.5 months old. So she is now 8-9 months old. Haven't weighed her lately. The big brown dog weighs 75lbs.....I would guess she is 35-45lbs now and not going to get much bigger. Stupid midget dog LOL.

She is okay with my chickens but is not left unattended with them. She sometimes thinks the ducks are "kind of" fun to chase, because they like to run in a big group and flap their wings. Now that I only have the 4 ducks, she seems to ignore them. Considering her age she does GREAT with the chickens.......but is too young and playful to leave with them unattended. They are just SO MUCH FUN to make flap and squawk, you know? I can put her out in the "yard" (1/2 acre fenced) with Frankie the big brown dog and 100 chickens, including big ones, bantams and BABIES, and she won't hurt them. She likes to get in the coop and nose around and has been known to steal eggs (thwap!). She has gotten nailed by a few broodies so is respectful of them LOL. She just does everything at 100 miles per hour and that includes running right past a big group of chickens (or through them!). She is much more interested in eating chicken poop than chickens.

She came from the shelter so is already spayed and microchipped. She loves and adores Frankie and is paying him back for him being such a jerk to everyone the first 2 years of his life. She likes to grab him by the side of his head and play tug of war.......or if his head is not available, she will grab a leg and play tug of war with it instead.

Here she is guarding the "baby pen". These babies are all out in the big yard now and she ignores them. She is more interested in eating their food and poop than them.

Thanks, Scott. A wonderful birthday it was ..... prayers answered and DD home!

We have only one dog. He is just a mutt, but we sure love him. He was raised with the chickens, and seems to think he is their guardian. When we crate them, like when someone buys some, he gets all upset and jumps up on the crate like he is trying to protect them. He shares his dog food with them, too!

Ok everyone I like the dogs but have enough to clean up after. Maybe if someone crosses a dog and hen and it lays eggs. Used to have a dog named "Egypt" cuz he laid pyramids all over the yard.

Now back to chickens, try to focus ok? This is a Delaware post ok right ?

Gotta Del question. I am wondering if the Del lines are prone to throw roos. See the thing is of speckledhens eggs 5 out of 6 were roos. I had a broody hatch one and it's a roo. Also I have a broody with two and guess what? Roos!

Now I do have someone who will take them for free but I'm sick of wasting time with roos. So I wonder whether it's the breed?

speckledhens and my line are not related and none of the current chicks is related except by the my roo.

Have no chicks from speckledhens chickens.

Any thoughts?
