While I do not approve of gluttony in a rooster when he has girls present, I still carry a bit of a soft spot for Severus. I can't help but feel sorry for him. He didn't ask to become head roo. I'm sure he would be more than happy to have Thor back and in charge. Somehow, I get the feeling that Severus was never cut out to be a flock master. He's more like a court jester, much like my CB. But even CB clucks and points like crazy to the girls any time they happen to wander by the run. Poor little guy. I wish I could give him his own little flock, cuz I know he'd do right by them. *sigh* Maybe someday................

Nella...Spike sure does know he is all that and a bag of peanuts. hehehehe I adore him.

Amy, you are correct about Severus...he would love to have Thor back in charge...he was always the backup and he likes that position...he was good at it too. I do like the boy and he is so handsome but he is just not a flock leader.

Maybe Severus will happily step back into his old position when Lancelot or the other (nameless?) blue roo is ready to step up to the plate-who knows? Maybe he is on his little chicken knees every night at dusk praying one of those boys has a head roo profile? If NO one works out, I will send you Ivan the Terrible or Boo-

I do love those little porcelains- what a pretty, pretty bunch of babies!

Amy, Chief and CB sound like dream boys- and I hope you can get CB his own group of girls. He does sound like he deserves it. All the hawk attack stuff just chilled me to the bone yesterday- my eyes have been frantically sweeping the skies every time I go outdoors.

I have just finished experimenting with the vacuum cleaner and I have decided to forgive my DH. I think he really was thinking of my back and my arthritis, because it swivels and swoops and sucks it's way all over the place- I have so far emptied the canister to the tune of at least one more dead animal than I usually sweep up on a Monday, and without half the back ache-

I may even give him points for this!

Well done hubby of Beth...I warn people before they ever come to my home that I am not responsible for any hairballing they receive....it hides where I cannot see it and attack unsuspecting innocent bystanders.

Beth I love those little porcelains too...that Spike is totally adored.

Nella...Severus clucks, dances and calls the girls...to stupid things....the cat food, red plastic cups, the spray nozzle for the hose etc etc. But toss a ham bone or pasta down there and he forgets himself completely.

Ha! The Attack of the Hairballs- enacted in MANY different ways here, since we have kitties. And you know what they do-

I do remember an occasion where I held a meeting here- vacuumed everything for what seemed like ages just before the group arrived. And was horrified to see what happened, in about 4 minutes, to the black corduroy pants of one woman who opted to sit on the area rug.
By the end of the week, I was rugless. I kept the fairly good oriental, had it cleaned and stored and threw the rest - we agreed to remain rugless except for entry mats, etc. until we are down to a few less furry beings. Which, knowing us, may never happen! I simply do NOT understand, considering the amount of fur I sweep/vacuum each day, why these cats and dogs are not hairless. They should be down to skin by now!

This big dumb dopey thing sheds enough on a monthly basis that I could spin his hair into yarn and crochet a pooch a year!

And this is AFTER I brush him every day! Where does it all come from???

He too should be bald by now! The little wild birds sure love him every spring. There isn't a single Robin's nest out here that doesn't contain Jasper hair!
