Cetawin sweetheart, I'm ready to go knocking some heads together on your behalf if only I could!
That is NOT customer service. More like Customer Abuse!
We had a couple of run-ins with our satellite TV provider when we first moved. I told them, come get your crap and get it off of my property. They tried to pull the old, "Ma'am, you do realize you have a contract with us and that we can charge you the full balance of the account if you terminate early?"
HAA!! It is to laugh! Because I specifically told them when I requested their service that there was no way I was going to sign any kind of contract that would lock me in to a specified length of time. As I had explained to them before they ever set one toe on this property, our last carrier we were with for over 20 years and they were free to confirm that with Comcast. I saw no need for a contract, and neither should they! Further, that if they insisted on a time contract, too bad, I'll take my business elsewhere....like to Dish Network!
They hate it when you mention the competition!
So, when we started having problems with them, they of course were the typical big corporation kind of snotty about it. They changed their tune pretty darn fast when they realized that A) They
didn't have a signed contract with us and that B) We were well within our rights to boot them off of the property and they had absolutely no recourse!
It's so fun to get one up on companies like Direct TV.
I'm tickled to pieces that you got those kind of concessions out of Hughesnet LadyHawk! You rock girl!
I wish I could fly you up here to deal with some of the imbeciles in our neighborhood. *insert snarky grin here*
