Oh btw one of my partridge silkies now has a comb, wattles and crows. So far just one of the 5 silkies is crowing and showing wattles.

We had a couple of run-ins with our satellite TV provider when we first moved. I told them, come get your crap and get it off of my property. They tried to pull the old, "Ma'am, you do realize you have a contract with us and that we can charge you the full balance of the account if you terminate early?"

HAA!! It is to laugh! Because I specifically told them when I requested their service that there was no way I was going to sign any kind of contract that would lock me in to a specified length of time. As I had explained to them before they ever set one toe on this property, our last carrier we were with for over 20 years and they were free to confirm that with Comcast. I saw no need for a contract, and neither should they! Further, that if they insisted on a time contract, too bad, I'll take my business elsewhere....like to Dish Network!

So, when we started having problems with them, they of course were the typical big corporation kind of snotty about it. They changed their tune pretty darn fast when they realized that A) They didn't have a signed contract with us and that B) We were well within our rights to boot them off of the property and they had absolutely no recourse!

Well I had to laugh at my DH....he was talking to them because "I need to speak to William because the account is in his name". I said FINE and handed him the phone, he went through their security questions and then said "I would suggest to you that you not piss off my wife because while the account is in my name, the credit card you charge every month is in hers"

I told dingbat the same thing "Where is a contract that either of us has signed?" She said "When you give us your credit card, it is electronically signing the contract" I said "Fat chance...try again".
 
I noticed that the rooster/hen pair were the only ones whereby I could vaguely see their breed tag on the cage. Well, I took the liberty of enlarging it on my monitor and lo and behold, I could just make out the tag. We were both wrong Cetawin. They're a pair of Mottled Japanese!

Cetawin, you must understand that who you talk to is not trained in customer service and can only go with the program in front of them and has no authority. I do understand your frustration with companies these days. Perhaps the economy will be good for us in that they will not want to lose our business.

We here do not have cable or satelite service. Not in this house. I use verizon DSL for my computer and it's fast enough for me.
I find it interesting that the Gov. has changed everything so we can't get decent TV even with the boxes they sponsored and gave out coupons for. I wonder how long it will be before no one will be able to get TV without cable. Yes I do think there is a comspiracy to FORCE us to buy cable service giving the government access to our homes. The same way TV is controlled in middle eastern and communist countries things will be here too. Do you know in England you can't even have TV w/o a license? Ask yourself why would the Gov allow people on section 8 to have cable or satilite? She has two nextdoor. Have you noticed that in all the advice to cut down due to the economy it has not included get rid of your cable?

Rrrrrright nnnnow this is how we ssssee tttv. EEEvverything and everyone stutters. Reception sucks and we just get frustrated and put in a dvd or vhs. It's a pain in the tookus. Was it Nathan Hale who said "give me liberty or give me death"?

BTW, Martha is moving to the hallmark channel which btw can only be gotten with, you guessed it, cable. Not that I care for her but do watch her on occasion or at least did.

Sorry for the downer, gotta go see the new Del chicks and hope they're ok. Who needs Martha and cable tv when you got chicks? She hatched out all four last time I looked.

That is how I feel on a daily basis. No, no....HOURLY basis.

Is there anyone local who wants some free labor on building a brooder room? I am dying to build one and have no room here to convert. I have it all planned out in my head and yet...no room. Why is there nobody in the knoxville area with unlimited lumber, wire and space for a brooder room? Darn you all.

Today is my first day back at work since last Wednesday. As expected, most of my work was not done while I was gone. Yay. It has been a glorious morning, obviously.


Speaking of internet/etc woes, apparently I forgot to pay my Charter bill. Whoops? I used to have it paid automatically by my credit card but after a few months of getting LATE bills because the payment didn't go through and being told my card was "declined" when it was over $10,000 under the limit and in good standing and paying all other bills perfectly fine.......I took it off auto payment and just do it monthly. But I forgot. Too many chickens, too few brain cells.

Anywho, I realized it was not paid as I came home to a big yellow paper on my door threatening to turn off service at 8am the next day if paid. Of course, I got home at 9pm and the customer service hours were over. And they had turned it off ALREADY....therefore I cannot pay online or even look up my account info. I made a payment over the phone on their automated thingy and called them at 7:30 am the next morning and was told my account was in good standing. Get home that night and have another bright yellow thingy on the door. Tv works but internet does not. Call them back and am told that my account is in good standing and there is no reason for the yellow thingy, must have been an "error". Okie dokie. They tell me there is no reason for my internet to NOT work so I have to call the techline.

Yay me.

Call the tech line and the guy is totally baffled. What lights are flashing on the modem, he says? ALL OF THEM. TOGETHER. ON OFF ON OFF. No no, he says, what about the suchandsuch light...what is it doing? I REPEAT, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING. TOGETHER. AT THE SAME TIME. ON AND OFF ON AND OFF. He sighs and is frustrated. I tell him that the dumbasses had turned my stuff off for nonpayment and he says "OH!, they just forgot to turn the internet back on" and he hits a button and all is well.

Now, you may say DARN YOU NELLABEAN you should have paid on time. Let me put it this way. My account balance for both high speed internet and digital cable was a whopping $104. Guess how late it was? NOT VERY. Ever heard of sending me a notice in the mail saying "hey dumb lady, you forgot to pay your bill". Guess not.

I hate them all.

also, we have a running joke at work..........if I say "I'm about to call charter" all my coworkers go "oh no! the yelling is about to start".

I have had about 200 problems with them in the few years I have had their service. They are my only option out in the boonies. Sigh.
