Nella,

You have my sympathies. That was very similar to what we went through with Direct TV. They turned us off because, according to their records, we were late in paying. This was in the second month of service. We hadn't received a freaking BILL!!! Why? Because of course their accounting department was all screwed up and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand does, and long story short, they turned us off. I should've told them to just come get their crap equipment right then and there.

No grace period, not so much as an ounce of willingness to work with us. We are NOT dead beats! And our credit history and rating speak for themselves!

Some days, ya just wanna reach through the wires and

Like an idiot, rather than sit there and argue with the stupid cow, I paid the bill. Hey! Battlestar Galactica was coming on in a few hours, and it was a NEW episode!

We've had other problems with them since then, and I've dug my heals in on each and every one.

Someday we'll be ready to move everything over to the new house. That's when Direct TV loses me as a customer, unless of course they're willing to give me a lot of incentives to stick with them....like moving the dish and aligning it, and tossing in a few of the boxes and DVR units as well! *insert plotting smile here*

Kathy- yeah, that's about what I look like this morning. . . . . .

WE have Charter and don't have any problems. We live out in the sticks, but maybe we are just in a better spot.

Ceatwin, I am glad you are back, I missed you.

This is a stinky day, I am depressed, and does anyone want a beautiful gray Arabian mare?

We disconnected from all pay TV. We're using our big dishes and get free programming. It's a pain and if Tom kicks the bucket, I'll have someone rip out all of it and just get something simple...or nothing. But, free is a price we can afford.

Oooh ooh, my favorite problem ever with charter? They had one of those "specials"....where you can get telephone, internet and cable all bundled together for $79 a month or whatever it was at the time (a few years ago). I call and sign up for it....but I WORK, so I make a saturday appointment. Friday night comes and they have an automated thing call to confirm and their confirmation says MONDAY. I cancel it and call them monday...well gosh they don't even MAKE saturday appointments....their system shows mine was always for monday. I'm sorrybut I'm not a dunce, I think I would notice if the girl said MONDAY when I am supposed to be in another city a half hour away AT WORK....or Saturday. Especially after I specficially ask for Saturday. So they make an appointment for the tech guy to come out a certain workday between 10 and 2 or something like that. He doesn't show up within that time period. I think he showed up at 3;30 or 4 instead.....whatever time it was was noted on the card he left on the door. So I call to reschedule........they reschedule for the following week....and then give me my total which will be $148 per month. I say WHAT? It is supposed to be $79.

and then the lady tells me that the $79 special is over and since I wasn't home with the technician arrived, my package was cancelled in the system and since the special is over she cannot give me anything but the current price. A) the tech didn't arrive when he was scheduled therefore nobody was there, B) I didn't ask them to cancel my package, C) I hate you all and wish you would die in a fire.

Needless to say, about 20 minutes and 3 supervisors later I got the $79 package and a credit and a saturday appointment.

Harumph.

You know I would if I could sweetie. I always wanted a horse, but I think my days of riding expired the better part of 10 years or so ago.

I hear ya Beth, about it being a stinky and depressing day. It's raining here right now. I don't have a covered scratch yard available to Chief and the girls because the boys are penned up in the only covered run I have, for their own good and that of the flock. And now my sweet little flock is all soaking wet.

Silly chickens won't go hang out inside the coop where it's nice and dry and snug. Oh no! They're out running around in the rain like it's some kind of treat!

I really gotta get that new coop and covered run done for the boys so Chief and the girls can have their covered yard back! I'm feeling about a thousand years old today.

How come you have to get rid of your sweet little Arab mare?

I have solved the Satelite internet problem...send your DH out to slap the snot out of the dish and then threaten it with a gun! We still have heard nothing from repair to set up the appointment. Nor have I heard anything from the mechanic about my rear axle (on the truck...my axles are fine

)

Beth, what is up why must you give up your girl? How old is she? Is she broke to ride? Pics? Price? and Do you deliver to Kentucky? hehehehe

Had an interesting morning...got the text message from Sarah saying "Feel like wrangling some donkeys this morning?" They apparently went via the creek bed, two farms over. So DH and I met her, loaded her trailer up, wrangled the 4 mini donkeys from hell and got them in the trailer. Poor hubby has a rope burn across his stomach from a wild ride after he lasso'd one of them. LOL Meanwhile poor Sarah is in the back of the trailer with the other three who all wanted out and did not seem to mind going through her in their attempts. Idiot mean donkeys. I wanted to shoot them and be done with it....my theory "They are easier to drag into the trailer if they have suffered lead poisoning" but they belong to Sarah's landlord and she is merely the caretaker so she would not let me shoot the mean things.

Naptime for me. LOL

Aw, mini donkeys are so cute. Want to see a cute picture of mini donkeys?

Here is my psychotic horse standing in front of a mini donkey momma and baby.

Soooooo cute, right?

Turns out it was a surprise baby. The boys had all been gelded but apparently not quick enough......so one of the girls was obviously pregnant....but they had no idea when she was due. She and the two now gelded boys were kept in a field with my crazy quarter horse Foxy....she mostly ignored them and is very docile with other horses...usually low on the totem pole, etc. Well one day I go out there and find her guarding the momma and a BRAND new baby! SO CUTE! She was standing about 10 feet away and didn't want to leave. I did my thing with my crazy horse and when I went to put her back into the field, she reminded the two boy donkeys about what a "personal space bubble" means. Aka, get your A$$ (hahahha) at least 1 acre away from momma and baby. You can see in the picture the momma and baby way at the back of the field and my horse Foxy chasing down the boys....ears pinned and very unhappy they were within 100 feet LOLOL.

No donkeys were harmed in the making of that picture. But boy did those 2 jacks stay on the other side of the field for a while.

No argument from me Nella. Is it true what I've heard of the minis? That they're excellent guard animals of any kind of flock? Be it sheep, goats, chickens even? That they'll protect their "Flock" from all comers, especially against coyotes? I wonder if anyone here has had experience with them in that regard?

See now my family thinks I'm cheap cuz I won't get basic cable. The thing is there is alot to do around here and they sit enough as it is. Come home and sit and watch TV. Except for DW who makes dinner. Now I've got DD's and SIL and they rarely do anything but there is something to do everyday. That's life. Course DD who just had a baby has somewhat of an excuse. I can't get anyone to sift the litter pan and understand that the recycling bin is outside not in front of the door. Sorry I'm not in the best of moods. I just put my favorite mower on the curb. It needed fixing and the guy who answered my CL post never came. I hate people who don't do what they say they're going to do. Plus I got three kids bikes and no one to fix them either. See when I was a kid I had a bike my brother found in a ditch with no seat. Very unconfortable to ride with just the post sticking up. Now they're all over the place and no one cares to fix them. Hope you understand.

Now this thing with cable is companies have found that to pay someone to give good service didn't help the bottom line so they said heck why pay someone to answer the phone when it doesn't result in more or less business. Or in some cases it's so much trouble to switch to another company they know they can treat you poorly and you have to put up with it. Now if they make watching TV so complicated like trucks and cars are now, you'll have to pay someone to come and fix the "entertainment system" or you have no TV. It gets so complicated you can't fix it yourself. If my TV breaks I'll know it's because it's got a hammer through the front of it. Cuz I got so mad at the reception fadding in and out!
See and cell phone companies know they've got you by the you know what's with the get out of the plan for $200 clause. Now when I get them to sign my clause that says I can shove the phone up the clerks nose if it kicks out then I'll sign theirs! Til then I'll use prepay and not give my number out to everyone. Most people aren't that important anyhow. Don't call me I'll call you has become my tag line now. Just don't expect me to call you unless it's an emergency like chicken feed is on sale.

Well I guess that's enough for now.
Still love ya all
Rancher
