The Queen survey's her flock of Delawares. It's ashame you can't see them larger they look really nice. She's gotten much better. She used to burst into tears at the sound of the rooster crow, even if it was someone imitating the crow.

Oh please! Let us get the cabinets in first, OK? Of course, we still have to order said cabinets yet!

But soon.

Well, "soon" relatively speaking. Heck! It's taken us four years just to get to this point. Soooooo, maybe in another two or three months??

I have no idea. I gave up setting dates and dead lines about a year or two ago. Nothing ever goes as fast as I'd like or hope. But, considering that it's just the two of us building this house, I figure we're not doing all that badly, all things considered.

Tim, the Queen is growing like a little acorn there! Before you know it, she'll be a tall and mighty oak!

I gotta laugh at your comment about her bursting into tears any time she hears a rooster crow. I had to give a friend of mine a wake up call the other morning. I thought it would be funny to crow like a roo as soon as she answered the phone. Great idea, right? Not according to my dear, sweet little Del girls who were sound asleep in the brooder next to me!! OMG! You never seen three little girls wake up, scatter and hide so fast in all your life!

Poor wee girls. Just about darn near gave 'em a heart attack!

Amy, you bad thing, you made those babies hit the dirt? They sure can scatter, can't they?

Today, I am down by 8 more chicks, a D'Uccle trio and a Delaware point of lay pullet. Next weekend, Junebug and Addie go to live in Kentucky. My friend Amy who lives about an hour south of me decided to take the crossbeak, blind-in-one-eye NH pullet with the others she picked up and give her a chance among her motley crew. She spoils her birds rotten and I know they'll have the best she can give them, which is pretty darn good, let me tell you. I have three late blooming cockerels, a BLRW, a Buff Orp and a Blue Plymouth Rock still to rehome, though.

On May 28th, the Firetower will be removed and relocated to its new home in North Carolina.

Great job Cyn!

I know that you are so happy to have some more peace. But why did you sell Tasha? No more Delawares after Isaac and his ladies die?
