Thank you, Jeff! No, I did not see that. For some reason I am not getting any email notices of my subscribed threads. They are not in my spam folder either.

I thought they were darker. I didn't know they had golden heads. They look nothing like the ones at the NYS Fair. Or are they different from New Hampshire Reds?

Rancher, I haven't been ignoring your question. I just was not sure how to answer it. I know that they are not supposed to be called New Hampshire Reds, just New Hampshires. Here is a thread about them https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=419283

Well if Don Schrider of the ALBC calls them New Hampshire Reds as in the Article I'm reading then it's ok by me. And I quote, " Interestingly the New Hampshire Red chickens has only one breed in it's ancestry - the Rhode Island Red. They were simply selected for a fast rate of growth and a different body shape was produced. The New Hampshire chicken breed can be said to have meat as it's first priority , with fast growth (about 14 weeks to be ready for slaughter) and a plump carcass. " end quote.

Now of the Rhode Island Red he says. " Rhode Island Reds were created to be heavy producers of eggs." end quote.

So I say call them what you want. If your happy I'm happy.

I got it at CM for $13.99 before the coupon.

The reason the coupons this quarter was for Omega 3 was to introduce the public to the feed. Next quarter it should return to any chicken feed. I am sorry for the inconvenience!

This was the response I got from purina when I asked them how to find it since no one had it. I did of course find it at CM but they don't carry the flock feed but TSC does.

Are ya'll trying to specifically feed product that is "meat" free??

I use Tucker Milling (local manufacturer) and meat by products is the second ingredient. Everything I'm reading says chickens need "meat" protein

Am I behind in a discussion here???!!!

BTW - evening y'all....rainy and cool here today (Praise Glory)
