I was on overtime, so I got sent home from work at 3AM. Well, at least I got 8 hours in! Now I am wide awake. Gotta get some work done. It is so dang cold, I don't wanna go outside yet. It is 33 but the windchill factor makes it feel like only 29. I am NOT ready for this cold weather.

Na Knox, I had one come with me from Oregon, a hen named Faith. Sadly I lost her in July with the other girls but I had 4 total back in Oregon. I loved them, great birds really.

LH, my packet to you is still sitting at home, and includes pictures of the Diva's ancestors - but what you have is what I sent Boni originally- I think Ruby Jo was really the best of the three, she is in GA somewhere being a broodmare.

Cyn, how is Smoky? Alive and kicking? Ultrasuede and Silkie held vigil all night!

Smoky is alive and had yogurt and just now, some scrambled egg mixed with yogurt. She's standing very vertical because I'm sure she feels like she was hit in the chest with a baseball bat, but she is bright eyed and with good face color. Her poop will tell the tale when I see that the eggs went through okay. Later on, I plan to give her some very soupy oatmeal/gruel if I see her pooping well. So far, so good.

Thank you Cyn! I was hoping for an update on Smokey before I head out to the coop this morning.

I'm so relieved to hear that she's doing so well! Beth has the right of it. These birds are a part of our families too. And when one of our birds is not doing well, we all feel it.

Keeping you and Smokey in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. I sure hope she continues on the path to a speedy recovery!

Brandon, sweetie, I'm so sorry about your SF boy.

But I know, brief as his life was, with you, it was a great life! Hang in there sweetie.

LH, those pictures of the Diva Do and her offspring explains a great deal! You have my sympathies my friend! That's a battle of wills I don't think you're ever going to completely win with that one!
