I looked for an answer for this, and didn't see it, if it's there.
I'm using an existing storage area on the side of my garage for a Duck coop. It has block walls up most of the way, (not all the way so there will be good venting) and a concrete floor.

Should I seal the block walls and floor due to Duck yuck smell?

If I do seal it, should I use a water based sealer so there isn't a lethal chemical residue or will the oil based work??

You still will have the smell present when your ducks leave you the surprises. Use deep bedding. The cement floor can be swept out, hosed out with water,,, and sanitized with bleach couple times per year, or as needed. Ducks generally do not blast on the walls very high.
Is your concern,,,,,, that in time, you will no longer keep ducks, and want to use the the shed for different purposes??
At that point, you can sanitize, and paint the interior with whatever paint you decide to use.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

I think I will have to seal at some point, but because of the cost, I will have to wait. I'm already waist high in this venture and that sealer is real expensive, even though I know I can get a discount from my old employer.
Thanks for the advice Guys. :thumbsup

Got a bunch done today. It's now 3 days from the Ducks arrival. The brooder is ready except for the wire cover. I will have to do some wiring while the 'lings" watch me pretend to be an electrician and a plumber because I haven't been able to get all the hardware. I hung a 4' shop light from an extension cord and a 3 outlet adapter. That will have to do for now.
My weakness right now as I see it is a waterer. That's not a good thing because "The water game" is 80% of the job with Ducks.
I see on my list of items to pick up is Paint tray with roller screen. Why is that there? Is it important?
