Sebrights....Who else has these Little Boogers

I was talking to a guy who raises these a couple of weeks ago. He artificially inseminates all his.
I was wondering about that, but I had put 5 eggs in the incubator anyway. Had 3 hatch, 1 has a crooked leg.
DH sold the adults, so I guess I won't be breeding these now.

They sure are cute little things. I like them.

We ordered sebrights from Murray McMurray. We got 15 both golden and silver. We couldn't keep them warm enough over the winter and we lost all but one. I'm told they need to be kept in a warm building over the winter. The roo was protective of the girls and bloodied me up a few times!! They are very sassy and independent birds...smart and a lot of personality! I also read that the roosters often have infertility problems, so I can understand why artificial insemination would be used.

LCRT,
It would be a shame not to pass down her personality and beauty!
Good luck in breeding her, she is such a beautiful thing.

My sebright roo(who now lives at my parents house) is full of attitude and fears NOTHING(except my hugs and kisses which he ran from everytime!). He really is like the pit bull of the chicken world, muscular, well built and fearless, but has a little sweet side that is irresistible!! I know corny, but true...I really miss him!

I have three of the little troublemakers, they're still chicks but they are hard to handle. I guess they wouldn't be if I had a lot of time to devote to just them. They're supposed to be pullets, which I hope they are. They're lovely birds when they're matured. I think I'll separate them from the other chicks I have them with and bribe them with treats. Maybe then they won't be so flighty.

I had a silver seabright for a while. Unfortinatly she was killed by a snake.
