Seeking a little advice....

I would leave the egg under as long as possible and once if pips move it to a box with the heating pad.
I personally wouldn't worry too much about having the exact temps while it was hatching, I would just try to keep it close to 95-100 degrees.

Thank you very much, I plan to leave the little one under a broody as long as I possibly can without potentially endangering it. :)

A bit of good news: I moved Christina, nesting box and all, into a very large, comfy dog kennel....and it was a success!!!! :celebrate She's actually remained! :D With this out of the way, I may end up letting her hatch. We'll see. :) Hatching underneath a hen is the most natural, optimal method, and I realize that. I'll keep a REALLY close watch on Sunday, and if I detect any signs of desire to eat our baby, plan B will come into play.

I can't thank my sweet fellow BYC-ers enough for taking time out of their days to help me out. :hugs Looking forward to meeting my little Wheaten AM bantam X OEGB (or possibly pure Ameraucana, time will tell)! :love It's gonna be a cutie pie!

Congrats on getting them moved.
I’ll be tuned in over the weekend! Best of luck!

Tonight has been pretty sad for me....little baby stopped moving entirely this evening. I don't even detect a heartbeat where there was one earlier. :hit While I can't help but wish there was some way I could've helped it, I know that's impossible. These things happen. :(

I'm keeping the egg underneath Christina for another day or two just to be 100% sure it's gone.

Thank you all SO much for your help....it was MUCH appreciated. :hugs

I should probably have a stethoscope around. :)

Sad to say, little one passed away on day 20. Its heart rate was WAY down, and then next time I checked in, nothing. Never even internally pipped. Any ideas what went wrong? :(
