If you hatch only the smallest eggs laid by your chickens will you be able to decrease the size of the breed?

i think it would be better to selectively breed the smallest hens and roos to each other

and those offspring the smallest of them

ans so on and so forth

i don't think egg size matters

but as the hens get smaller in size the eggs will decrease in size naturally

Selecting the smallest hens should be first choice. Chicks contain genetic material that allow them to grow to a certain size. The egg shell does not affect all that much, except how small of eggs your birds will lay.

selecting the smallest roo is even more effective. But still you need a lot of time and hope that you are not just selecting runts.
