Using the barn idea, the SOP for Orp is the barn, the lav is the paint. You can paint all you want, but till the barn is built, it's just a pile of painted wood. So prime the wood, build the barn, then paint it.
exactly right when starting a new build, However we are not building a new barn, we are simply adding an addtion on to it, we started building our barn back in 2007,
simpley because you couldnt buy this type of barn here back in 2007.. and so we've been using blacks in how many of our out crossing's, we are on the right track to having the perfect barn following the building codes along the way best one can, thats the ticket.
i guess some may not be recrossing at all and just using and breeding o say 2nd, 3rd or 4th generations etc,/just tearing down the barn and putting it back up. But that is up to those individuals how they breed or for what ever reason they choose to tear it down and put it back up and just not adding an addition to it to make it bigger and better..
I do know we want to press on with them here and in adding new black lines to them as we progress with them.. the perfect USA lavender Orpington is not far from our grasps now..
we are in the final frontier here, i can see it already..
The Building theory or conspiracy::: i prefer to have my wood painted every step along the way as the barn gets built bigger & bigger, the paint is already there to something were are adding an addition to now..remember when you add addition onto your barn you don't remove all the paint off the complete barn, no you just take part of the paint off were you are adding on to and then repaint the the new addition..pretty simple thought isn't it, Our addition is what i like to call a Wing Addition (full expansion of the back, side or front)
for those that dont now how
Whatever style of addition you choose it will be a large undertaking, but it doesn't have to be stressful if you take it step-by-step.
