Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

We are raising money for lavender silkies, so it is for a good cause.

Right! And it is practically painless compared to selling our kidneys.

I will tell you like I tell my husband "The ONLY reason we have the stove is because it came with the house" I do however boil eggs for the chickens so it is nice working order.
Seriously this show is almost 12 hours for me so I will need the details. Does anyone know the addy. or the web address for it? I can not show at this time and give some of you girls/guys a run for your money but would love to come and take some of the work load off your hands with all those lovely silkies. My NPIP can not be done for a couple mths. Next year girls.

Wow, that's a long way to drive to a show. Have you researched to see if there is one closer to you? Usually there is a show in your home state at least once a year. Check out the Silkie Bantam Club, call your state representative of that club and ask where the closest show is. Also check out local Chicken Swaps/Sales. These will be a good outlet to sell your culls when you start breeding for SQ.

Latisha, the Shawnee show will be held at Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, 177 and Independence Avenue, Shawnee, Oklahoma, (405)830-4338. Some of the breeders will bring birds for specific people, but need to be sure they will be bought and picked up, as they travel quite a ways to the show also and have limited room because of bringing show birds. Breeders come from all over the US to this show and sale. Bren has showgirls as well as lavenders. ALL are quality birds.

I could take a pic of my splash showgirls (they're really lovely, with very large crests and great foot feathering), but somehow my computer won't let me access the pics to send them--even though I've loaded them into the computer--has to do with my server having been sold several times, I think. It wants me to confirm an old connection with a server that no longer exists. I really need to find out how to correct it.

It IS a long way for one to travel to a show, but this is an exceptionally good one, and you'd make connections with several of the best breeders. Deb is president of the American Silkies Bantam Club, and Bren is vice president. John F publishes the newsletter, I believe.

BetsyOk I was actually looking into the show as we speak. It I have not found a breeders list as of yet but did get the addy and hotel info. I am just trying to round up one more person and make it a road trip. I really do not want to drive that far alone, but I have a couple of prospects willing to make the drive. I will confirm my attendence before I contact the top breeders I do not want to waste anyones time. OH please do try and get a pic of that splah showgirl posted. You have my hopes up now. I am sure he/she gorgeous. Thanks for the info it really helps. Have a great day! I am going to down size my chicken nipple system today to make a travel size one just in case it is needed.

I'm not planning to sell the splash Showgirls; probably just show them. I might have some babes by that time, though, as a couple of hens are setting in the pen that produced them.

BetsyOk I would love to see the pics. I googled it but only came up with one. I would love to have some of those babies to maybe put with a black silkie.
Please do Bacres! Then put them in a box and ship them straight to me!
