Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Connie posted her lavendars and those porcelain babies that came out of mine on Eggbid. I believe the auctions end today.

Yes, 2 hours and counting for all the stock listed. All birds but the Lav Cock & white pullet are from Amys flock. The auctions with Amys birds are being split by us down the middle for payment on birds to help Amy with her dogs vet bill, we had planned this a week ago. Free delivery to the Avoca Iowa show if needed otherwise new shipping box's are on the way!

So what does everyone think about Lavenders passing this winter? I hope and personally think that they will pass and become an official variety.

It's my understand that it is a fairly sure thing they will. I certainly hope so. Then we have to start working toward acceptance for Isabels!

Isabel is buff with the addition of the lav gene in the homozygous form.

If I breed my lavender to my buff one time? or do I take his daughters back to him?

You will breed your Lavender to your buff and then the offspring back to the Lavender.

Yes, you will breed the f1 offspring back to the lav parent and you will get around 50% of the offspring showing lav. These would be considered isabels, although you may need to do some more breeding to get the coloring just right.
