Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Hi Matt
frow.gif
hows all your new babies????

I'm so sorry April, that is just too sad.

We don't have snakes, and no mice or rats, but I have 12 outside cats, I think that helps....but today one big Tom cat pulled a baby silkie through the chicken wire and killed.
You just can't win some days!
No more chicken wire for me........it just is too risky.

April, that is a frightrning thing to walk into. You are lucky Brody was home from school to help you.

On a brighter side, i banded the chicks from your eggs and made my 8 week sex guesses.
It looks like I got 3 porcelains,

2 lavenders, 1 lavender slpash? ( the color says splash, the wings say lavender) 2 blues and 1 black.
They are getting their head feathers and are getting cute again.

Hi Brenda,
I'm so excited for you! The kids look great, I'm a proud Grandhen! It's always exciting to see how they develope, and when someone has good luck with some of our chicks, well that's even better. I'm going to have to add an Update Brag page to my website for all the chicks/eggs that I have sold!
Gotta go, off to Lucasville Ohio for the APA Semi Annual show! Brody has a few Split Lavs showing in the standard classes! They are some of the mommas to a few eggs, can't wait to see how they go.

I think those babies are very pretty, wonder what they will turn out to be???
Keep me in mind if they are "funky", I have a seperate pen of Silkies just for table eggs, I don't care what they are colored like...I'd rather have Silkies than any other breed, even for eating eggs!
