Darn....I'm looking for a pure lav roo!

It should be alot eaiser to get a Roo than a Hen! Ask her if she has and males because everyone gets excesse males.

I asked for a roo and possibly a hen...and nope. fooey. Eventually I'll get one!

Splits are a lot easier to fined than pure lavs. Ask Shagbarks, or other breeders. Everyone has excess roos at sometime.

How many times do you have to breed the splits back to do this? If I read this whole thred its probably in here I suppose....I'm just trying to grasp all this color/gene info

If you breed a Split to a Split then you should get a result of

25% Black
25% Lavender
50% Black Split Lavender

so...then could you breed 2 lavenders from that batch (if you got 2) or would a lavendar have to be bred back to a parent lavendar (father) to make it a pure lavendar....or am i lost here? LOL!

Lav x lav = 100% lav

Lav x split lav = 50% lav, 50% split

Split x split = 25% lav, 50% split, 25% non lav

Split x non lav = 50% split, 50% non lav

lav x non lav = 100% split

In hatches where you have both split and non lavs, they will be indistinguishable from one another.
