I have another method that works for me. I use those small cage cups like we use in the show coops. Cut a slit in the Horizon box and mount the cup on there. Fill the cup with regular chick starter mash. Pour in as much water as you can and poke it around. Make it into a soupy mush. Get it as wet as you can without water floating on the top. It stays in the cup even if the box tips or is jostled around. The chicks love it and it really holds the moisture if the box gets held up for 3 days enroute. Fruit works well on older bird but chicks really don't pick at it much. I ship alot of the 2-3 week old chicks this way and rarely loose any enroute. I also put it in with the day olds even though they really don't need it. It does add to the overall weight of the box. Personally I'd rather absorb a $5 difference in the express mail and have them all arrive alive.
