Has anyone had better luck under a broody rather then an incubator?

I have better hatched with all my broodies I have no more broodies though or else Id be cooking eggs now. BUTTTTTT...with chickenstock this weekend-Im borrowing my friends suro 20 and am getting some sweet eggs ( silkies) to add to mine..last batch of season and Im sneaking in a few of my splits

2nd clutch under broody update..... 4/12 developing

don't get me wrong it's far better than nothing..... I would like to see at least a fertility rate go up on eggs.
These are 100%'s I'm thinking of getting a split rooster for what ever hens I get from these clutches. Mix the gene pool a little and pump up the color

The two surviving chicks I have are just beautiful so far though!

I just hatched out a Lavender Showgirl baby, and I think an Isabel Showgirl

I got 4 out of 4 to hatch, but 2 of them are split lav's (from my buff showgirl). She is throwing some dark chicks, they look almost black, and then she is throwing the Isabel color.

Don't know if this has made the difference, but I keep them in the bator until they pip (I keep the humidity around 40-50%, then once pipped, I put them into another bator and increase humidity to around 75-80%, and I occasionally mist them with a water bottle. The constant turning has not seemed to cause them any problems at all. I had to help one out, because I didn't catch it in time, and it had already zipped in the turner, and the humidity was not high enough, so I helped it out, since it was stuck. But, it's still doing fine.

So, I am going to continue to hatch this way for now. I have 28 more in the bator, so I'll keep you all updated on how they hatch with this method.

WAY TO GO! This is an exciting time of the year. I seem to see good results when it cools down. Hens are laying really good right now. I need to stop but plan to keep on keeping on.

I don't think my Isabel is going to make it

She was born with an abnormally large behind, but I thought it may have been that she hadn't absorbed the yolk yet. But, she just cries all the time, and I know that's a bad sign. I gave her some Poly Vi-Sol, so we'll see.

But, the Little Lavender is a trooper! Sooooooo pretty! I hope my results get better. I have 3 more eggs that are due to hatch anytime now, so I'm getting anxious.

hey guys-I need some help.

you know how when you mate splits to splits-and a chipmunk is born?? That chick should be a Lav right?? Why if its supposed to be a lav do they look so different from when you get a chick from pure lavs breeding? Do you get what Im saying?? I have a chipmunk chick from a split pair-why doesnt it look like a "lav" chick?? Like all one color-will they grow out of that and into a pure looking one?? I know there is not a chance of mixed breeding accidently-the chick looks just like some of the chipmunky ones that have been posted on here...
