Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

How far are you from San Antonio? I have relatives that travel there about once a month. How much would you sell your extra cockerels? I think I'm getting a little ahead of myself here! Im just starting to breed blacks. I should probably just focus on them for a while. Those lavenders are just so beautiful!

What a nice compliment. THANKS...yes I am your neighbor...by a few miles.

Our farm is a good 5 hours from San Antonio. We are 40 miles NW of Fort Worth.

I can vouch for the quality of bren's lavenders and what they produce. Just took a photo today of my growing out girls from this spring and summer. I can only say I am more than blown away by what I got from my first try at crossing lav x black. THANK YOU Bren!!!! I can't wait to cross them back to lav and see what comes of it! The roo is not split. He is from different lines.

quick question, since I am on this thread. Have not read it in a while, so sorry if it was already answered. Does gray/silver leakage on the neck ruin them for making lavenders? I hatched one gray/partridge pullet from this pen as well... Not sure which way to use those, or to sell?

I see what you mean. Can't see a thing! Thanks so much for posting those pics for me. (and everyone else, lol) I am feeling much better about keeping that girl. She has kind of swan like poses without even trying, and I like her. And I agree, "What a CREST!" Hoping for some of the same from my flock next season. Maybe this fall or winter...

The top one is a cockerel, that's why I wrote what a crest. We have been trying to increase crest size on our boys. I wouldn't worry about breeding you girl, she looks like a fine young lady to me

She will give you good offspring.
