With the kids out of school I haven't had much time for BYC, I wish I could have gotten the info out there sooner, maybe saved some people some money on shipping.
I was looking for a place that sells the Arm & Hammer wash powder in my area, and ran across another person who went a different route. Sodium Carbonate is the same as the PH + in the pool section
Also, if anyone is interested, the phone number for Arm & Hammer is 1-800-781-7529.
RE. Goats Milk, we love our goats and it tastes so rich and good. "the goaty taste people talk about depends on age of the milk and what you feed them. We feed ours mixed grain and it's delicious. I love making cheeses, yogurt and ice cream from our two ladies. If you can find a "real milk goat" and not try to milk a goat that has not been trained, you will have better experience in this area. You'll need to learn the basics regarding hoof care, worming etc but it is well worth the venture. Good luck!
For those of you who cant find the washing soda A friend gave me this phone number call 1-800-524-1328 give them this UPC code 33200-03020 they will ask for your zipcode and tell you the closest store that sells washing soda good luck Micki

I can't believe that my husband actually loves this stuff. He loves the smell (he hates the smell of everything!) He likes the way it makes the clothes feel.
I made the powder kind. My towels have never felt so soft and fluffy without any kind of fabric softener at all! (and I have tried a ton of different fabric softeners.)
We still have some of the old store-bought detergent and I keep saying "you can go ahead and use up that old stuff if you want to." and he keeps saying "OK" and NOT using it. LOL

I have a 26 yr old who does things her way, lol, she left her empty detergent jug here last time she done her laundry and I filled it with the detergent I had made and now she has been using that and also has been telling her neighbors about it, one neighbor "loved" the smell and ask her about it, she said what was on the jug wasn't what was in it and preceded to tell her I had made it, WOW, ole mom finally done something right,
