If you are a female will you allow someone over to your house if there is not a man home?
There have been a couple times I have but ...idk Im kind of growing uneasy about allowing other men to come to my house without my SO home.

If I did wait for him it would take forever to sell animals because he doesnt usually get home till dark and we are gone most days on the weekends.

What do yall do?

Between the guns and the dogs, I don't worry about people coming over to the house.

Sure will. I'm an adult though. I do martial arts and have a cattle dog who has proven herself to be more than a worthy guardian of both my husband and myself. I also am pretty darn good at reading people in person.
However, I don't let strangers in even when he is home. X) If you don't have an appointment, forget about either of us even answering the door.

No, I generally don't even answer the door unless my husband is home. I'm a small lady with small kids and small dogs, and the guns are unloaded because of the kids, so it makes more sense to wait for my hulking he-man to come home. Especially because most of my dealings are on Craigslist and there are plenty of weirdos there, hiding among all the normal folks. Ha!

You are perfectly sane to be concerned. I NEVER allow a strange man (hardly ever a woman either) over to my house without my husband being here. When I have a private lesson I always take my husband with me if the client is a single male, or a married man but no one else will be home for the appt. When I had my GSD I was more lax about it, but without him and having my daughter with me at all times I don't take chances.

I use too, but after getting some creepy people or people that would just show up out of the blue at all hours I quit... Well hubby made me quit. I miss talking to people and showing them everything and explaining all the different animals, seeing kids faces and explaining how fun certail ones are... I have a zoo.... But after getting illness in my first flock , putting down my sweetest birds and the weirdos that started having we looking over my shoulder..., at my new farm I meet people down the road at the corner , with what ever I am selling. It's a pain, I probably sell less because people don't see all I have or their personalities running around the farm.... but it's safer for me, safer for my animals and I don't have to worry about customers just showing up at any time. I also don't post my number, if someone emails me and is ready to purchase, then I give it to them. It's a shame I have to be that way, but in these times it's getting where you have to be....

I would.. What would be the difference if you were single and didnt have a guy living at home with you...
Plus,... my husband is pretty mellow he'd be useless...

Actually, i dont really let ANY stranges at my house,.. even if my husband is home or not.. (sometimes we have though..)
Its just not a good idea to have stranges come to your house.. i usually try to meet them at store parking lots,.. OR what we USUALLY do is just deliver the animal ourselves...
That way i can SEE where my animal is going anyways... ;)

I will sell from home. I have the buyer call from down the road, so I can unlock the gate. I have to put up my one guard dog, or he will greet them thru the windshield of the car or truck they are driving.(love when he does that) I have two full service trained K-9 my babys. And two ACD's. I meet my customers with my pistol on.

Always let them know that the gate stays locked and the dogs are loose. And in my conversation tell them (Self preservation is number 1 always). That is what my Dad taught me. And yes, I am licensed to carry in Florida. And let them know we are a tight neighbor group, we all keep a lookout on each other.
