Anyone receiving horses from any state where the EH1V virus has been detected is asked to refrain from attending shows until a clean bill of health for every animal of theirs, and any guest animals, is obtained.

PLEASE- Pineapple mama, PLEASE reconsider - that approach is going to do NOTHING to help contain this disease.

PLEASE CONSULT WITH A VET....

Suggestion - you would be a lot better off asking people to refrain from showing for 21-30 days after the horse has returned from states where EVH-1 is known to have broken out.

That gives enough time for the horse to become sick (and to be withheld from showing til 30 days after recovering completely), what you are planning on doing will.not.help.

A 'clean bill of health' means absolutely nothing and will NOT help you prevent cases of EVH-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This disease has an incubation period - horses can very actively infect others BEFORE THEIR SYMPTOMS BECOME APPARENT!!!!!

PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!!
