Chickn,
I believe that is why they were checking to see if you are a memeber when you first pull in.You would think if your not selling and not a member it would be okay.Maybe they do allow non members just to buy.I too believe it cuts down on sales. We need to get everyone interested involved in as many groups as they can and help and give a start to the new generation of bird raisers. There are not many clubs in this area so we need to keep the ones we have going strong.
In N.H.,Tony.

tony
what would it take, how much do we need to know and do to start a new one"?

we also need to find out if they allow people who are not members to come in and sell

I don't know....I think MILFORD is going to be touqh to BEAT!! Why mess with a good thing?? Its the perfect location...owners LOVE us...and its a great time and not a hard ride for anyone. Do you all think having another back to back to the September one would bring a ton of people? It sounds like with Deerfield, Milford, and the one in Mass...is a little too much.

I think I'll shoot for one early spring maybe 4th Saturday in April 2009 in Cheshire County and I'll search us out a spot with bathrooms and cover in case of rain. This way I've got more time to find a place and I can recruit others to help out. Plus having it the beginning of chicken season has its benefits...if all goes well...we'll have another mid season. Like Milford did...

Thanks all for your input...

This was a blast!! I'll still come to Milford if we plan for one here in Cheshire County...I LOVE all you chicken folks!

i was thinking 2 spring, 2 fall in milford. that wouldnt be too much. we go to one once a month with another group and thats never enough!!

if i think to copy the flyers for the next one, i will be ready.

I am so glad you all had a great time at TSC...The weather cleared up nicely for the Race...I plan on making the Deerfield one...and now that I know about the seasonal swaps I will preplan my time to make them too...Pam

October is a bit tough for me. VERY busy with haunted events and making fudge for the online customers. Deerfield will probably be the only show I can truly fit in.
Nov 1st is a no go since my daughters 6th birthday party is that day.
As the days get cooler and the holidays approach business picks up. Drops off in the late spring.

No Tony You dont have to be a member to go or to buy animals, only a member to sell.
The first one I went to I wasnt amember either. and I came home with fan tail pigeons and ring neck doves for the Kids. and 2 crested canaries.
But I figure i am a bird nut and might as well join its not expemsive at all. Plus side is once a member you can sell also.
Please come on down and see whats available, there are some very nice birds available.

ETA :
If they give you a hard time tell them you are bringing in my animals then we will get you signed up as a member sit wiithme and alls good.

I had a great time too...I was hiding between two bunny sellers and across from the pigeon guy...

I'm so glad you liked them Muffi...

RhettandSarah's mom-my DS gave the thumbs up on the fudge. LOL

It was nice to meet CheepTrick and Cheryl also...I think maybe I met Chickn...

I missed seeing a bunch of you...darn! I was the fat woman in the chicken tshirt...and chicken sox. Didn't get to see the pheasants.

I loved the roasted chicken...

That's the first time I've seen a Polish in real life and the Aracaunas and the Chukars. All the free roosters were making me want to move. LOL Just so I could take em all...

I left at 7:30 to get there...darned rain...YIKES!

but I'll definitely hit the next Chickenstock...it's a blast!!!
