September 2016 Hatch-A-Long

I'm in a similar boat. I'm not doing anything yet. My first hatched last night and #13 this afternoon, 4 pipped still and 6 nothing yet. I'm hoping the 4 pipped zip soon, I hope I don't have to assist.

If an egg has been pipped for 12+ hours, then they should have had enough time to absorb their yolk and opening the air cell to help them out shouldn't be an ordeal. Good luck!

Is anyone else getting a hatch batch next week? I'm on day 14.... Seems like everyone else is pip and zip here!!! So exciting. :)

Day 18 for my three eggs. I'm trying to wait until noon to put them on lockdown, it's driving me crazy. I have chicks of various ages everywhere here… gonna have to do some major move arounds to have something ready by Friday!

In the incubator:
Day 17 - 10 shipped Lavenders some are clear so they will be removed tonight.
Day 11 - 2 BBS and 4 Lavenders.

Under Dash the broody pullett
12 BBS eggs could range from Day 11 to Day 20. Any eggs left will be candled and put in the incubator.

You're overrun with chickens!! Hah I don't know where to put my 5 next week.

That's a lot of eggs!

My hatch is about over. 19 chicks! I have one more half out that I had to assist with a cross beak, I doubt it'll make it. Then I candled the remaining 3 and they do not look developed all the way but they're dark green.

I Sure am!! Only 14 of 48 are adults!!!

I kinda messed up. Apparently yesterday was lockdown!! Oops! Just candled, marked air cells, and increased humidity. Only one moved for me, the cochin mix from my flock.

Plans are: Moved 4 week old mottled javas from in house to big coop with adults--- they will have their own area for integration. Move 5 week old sandhill hatchery chicks to old coop/shed with run, making broody coop available for these three once they hatch.

No. More. Chicks. In. The. House. Wouldn't have been but for the oops that my order ended up materializing after my potential ship date and the broody coop was busy brooding a bovine when I needed it.
